Abstract

After presenting the relationship between philately and chemistry, already discussed by several authors for decades, the potential of the postage stamp as a tool to teach and spread science is discussed. In practice, details are provided on the stamp emissions that have been made internationally with the occasion of the celebration in 2019 of the International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements (IYPT2019).
